Like the rest of New Zealand, Rotorua has its fair share of adventure and water based activities! The rivers coming into the lake provide great opportunities for white water rafting, river sledging going over the Kaituna waterfall, the highest commercialy rated waterfall in the world!!!  

AGROVENTURE (10 min. from the lodge)

Agroventures home of Swoop, Agrojet, Freefall Xtreme Body Flying, Rotorua Bungy and our world first the Shweeb. Live life on the edge at Agroventures and take on New Zealand's most diverse and unique array of adventure activities - Agrojet, Swoop, Rotorua Bungy, Freefall Xtreme body flying and Shweeb, all located within the realm of the world famous Agrodome, just 10km North of Rotorua City.  

On your arrival at our main reception area you can choose from one of the many of the great value adventure packages. Our staff is able to give you a full briefing on the options available. Here you'll find a modern stylish facility with leather lounge suites, full air conditioning, surround sound, merchandise, snacks and viewing balconies.

Agrojet

Power around the purpose built watercourse in a high speed Hamilton Jet Boat. Think you can handle speed surges up to 100kph in four seconds? The G-force sensation is akin to a Formula One Racing car in full throttle. Climb aboard. Snuggle into the bucket seat, click into your four-point race harness and let your pro driver show you what life's really like in the fast lane - because there is no slowing down for the corners! These 13 foot, state of the art water scythes cut a foaming path through the Agrojet watercourse - the hot 400Ci Chevy engine delivers a pulsing 450 horsepower to the one stage jet unit.

Swoop

Have you ever heard the expression just ‘let yourself go'? Well the swoop is the perfect example of how to do just that. Feel your heart beat as the anticipation increases as your raised 4o metres into the air high above the Ngongotaha stream, and then pulling a ripcord that that plunges you into an exhilarating swoop towards the ground at 130kmph. Take the plunge on your own or get others to join you to make for a more intense experience.

Freefall Xtreme

Ever wanted to fly, pretend to be a superhero? Well experience the thrill of body flying; this is the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Let the Freefall team guide you on the flight of your life as you step out into the flight zone. You'll fly up to 4 meters high suspended on the wind tunnel high above the scenic farmlands of the Agrodome.

Freefall Xtreme is powered by a V12 diesel engine, which turns a DC3 aircraft propeller creating winds of up to 180kmph. Safety is paramount with full training provided and an air cushion to provide a soft landing area, as you come out of your flight.

Shweeb

Imagine... climbing into a capsule, being pushed away in a frenzy of speed that resembles a bullet... or even racing through space. Do you have what it takes?
Feel the thrill rise through your feet as you experience a world first! The Shweeb will get your pulse racing as you compete against your family and friends or the clock to challenge the world record.

This thrilling and innovative riding experience takes you around a 200m track with scenic farmlands whizzing by as you power through three laps of the course with the potential to reach up to 45kph and the possibility of experiencing 60 degree angles on the bends. Don't miss this chance to be one of the first in the world to face up to the challenge!

Rotorua Bungy

For the true adventure experience, there is bungy jumping. Rotorua bungy provides some of the most spectacular views of the district, Lake Rotorua, Mokoia Island and far below the trout filled Ngongotaha Stream. As you stand on the purpose built tower, 43 meters above scenic farmland, you'll hear your jump master call 3, 2, 1 Bungy! as you take the leap of faith. On completion pose with the Bungy crew in front of the cameras to celebrate your success.

RIVER RATS RAFT & KAYAK (10 min from the lodge)

River Rats Raft & Kayak have been offering quality adventures for over 25 years. There's something for everyone, from a gentle grade 2 scenic raft trip suitable for participants as young as 5, through to full on grade 5 action featuring the world's highest commercially rafted waterfall. Kayaking is available as freedom hire or a guided tour. Paddle the local lakes to a secluded beach or enjoy a hot water swim only accessible by boat. River Rats pride themselves on a safety first culture and our attention to detail.

Kaituna (Grade 5) Awesome, featuring the world's highest commercially rafted waterfall an amazing 7m drop. Suitable for adventurous beginners try it if you dare!

Wairoa (Grade 5) Wild, full on action. This dam release river only runs selected Sundays from September to May and is the most technical of the trips we offer.

Rangitaiki (Grade 3 - 4) Adventurous, fun & Beautifully Scenic. A great trip for first timers this is a day trip from Rotorua and includes lunch.

Rangitaiki (Grade 2) A scenic trip for families or the less adventurous. Suitable for children as young as 5 years old. This is a day trip from Rotorua and includes lunch.

Tongariro (Grade 3) Fabulous scenery, fun for everyone. Based in Turangi 1 hour and 45 minutes south of Rotorua.

SKYDIVING WITH NZONE (15 min. from the lodge)

Tandem Skydive from 15,000ft. It takes a certain kind of person to step out an aircraft at 15,000ft into thin air. It takes courage. Expect sensory overload as your mind/soul/body fight against every natural self preservatory urge, as YOU STEP OUT THAT AIRCRAFT DOOR AND FOR SOME 60 SECONDS PLUMMET TOWARDS THE GROUND AT 200KPH. Off Road NZ offers awesome off road 4WD adventures and entertainment for adrenaline junkies, thrill seekers, vehicle enthusiasts, couples, groups of friends and the whole family. What we present is unique, fast, fun and above all... absolutely safe. Just drive yourself to the Max!

All participants are given a comprehensive safety briefing before commencing their adventures. Experienced professional Off Road NZ guides supervise each adventure ensuring fun and safety are maximised.

4WD Bush Safary... and you Drive!

This is the ultimate 4WD adventure, the first of its kind in New Zealand. No scoring here, just bravery awards. Pair up in one of our 4WDs and share the driving as you negotiate our challenging trail set amongst beautiful native rain forest. Conquer your fear as you slowly manoeuvre your 4WD through a variety of challenges including the daunting Luge. Steer your way through the Tunnel, and carefully plan your track while you negotiate the Waterfall.

There are many other exhilarating challenges to face up to during the 4WD Bush Safari. It is an awesome challenge for drivers of all abilities. You'll be surprised to see how you manage with some of the very cool yet somewhat intimidating tasks that you will come across along the track. Taking part in this 4WD Adventure will surely build your confidence behind the wheel. CB radios, heaters, all weather protection and a professional and friendly instructor are all provided. The vehicles get dirty, you stay clean. Safaris depart on the hour.

Sprint Car Racing... and you Race now! 

Get your 'backside trackside' and experience the thrill of racing high performance Sprint Cars on our concrete circuit that is built to test the best. These roaring machines are not toys but real, full sized race cars. They are fitted with roll cages and racing belt harnesses with power to slide.

Keep the clock in mind! The fastest lap wins and no matter how funny or crazy, there are no points or prizes for stunts! Sprint Car racing is very fast, very addictive, yet very safe. Off Road NZ will provide all safety and wet weather equipment. Print outs with your lap time are provided. See if you can beat the record! We wear out at least 4 - 6 tyres per day! Do you feel the need for Speed? Then don't wait any longer and come to Off Road NZ to give this wicked Sprint Car racing a real good go. You will love it! This awesome activity is available for licensed drivers only but... you may bring a passenger for moral support and the best part is passengers go for FREE!

Claybird Shooting... You Blast! We screem!

Here is your chance to give it a real blast! Test your skill & accuracy with real shotguns and live ammunition. And remember... no time to muck around because you'll have to shoot at it as soon as we send it flying!

Claybird shooting is great fun and this is definitely not as easy as it looks. There are 5 or 10 clay targets per person, depending on which option you choose, and you can take 2 shots at each clay. What a blast! We provide you with all safety protection, guns, ammunition and a qualified guide.

Archery... You Aim!

Try something new using our competition bows and arrows. Archery is fun, challenging and exciting and suitable for all sizes, physiques and fitness levels. It incorporates goal-setting, attitude, focus and visualisation. We'll show you some basic archery skills and shooting styles. Do you think you can hit the bull's-eye? It's a big target but... still hard to hit. Book below or check out our package deals.
